History of the Victory Belt College of Education

The story of the Victory Belt College of Education is one of faith, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to inclusivity. It began with a heartfelt promise made in 1987 by the Founder, an alumnus of the CMML Special School, who experienced firsthand the struggles and triumphs of life with a disability. Fueled by the desire to create a world where individuals with physical challenges could thrive, this promise became the foundation of a vision that would change countless lives.

On October 20, 2020, this vision came to life with the establishment of the Victory Belt College of Education in Iyale, Kogi State. Rooted in the belief that education is a right, not a privilege, the college was designed to serve the blind, deaf, and physically challenged, providing them with equal opportunities to learn, grow, and contribute to society.

This institution is not just a place of learning but a sanctuary of hope, where barriers are broken, and potentials are unlocked. Its affiliation with the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, ensures that the programs offered meet the highest standards of academic excellence, while also being tailored to the unique needs of its students.

The college stands as a testament to the founder’s determination to honor a promise made decades earlier. It embodies a deep-seated belief in the power of education to bridge divides and foster integration. Here, students with disabilities are not just accommodated—they are celebrated for their strengths, supported in their challenges, and equipped with the tools to lead fulfilling, independent lives.

Victory Belt College of Education is more than a school; it is a symbol of what can be achieved when compassion meets action. It continues to inspire students, families, and communities to believe that disability is not inability and that every individual deserves the chance to shine.

As it grows, the college remains steadfast in its mission to promote inclusion, innovation, and self-reliance, proving that a promise made in faith can indeed transform the world.
